CityRP Gamemode Rules

Read these carefully. Staff enforce rules strictly. Ignorance isn’t an excuse.

Reminder: This server is not like ones you are used to. We don’t care if you say you won’t do it again — you will be punished, and you will not be able to appeal.
Reminder: If you try to bend these rules to your advantage you will be permanently banned without warning. This is a serious roleplaying server and if we feel you are not here to be a good sport, you will be removed.

Rule Categories

  • RDM
Random Deathmatch. An act in which you randomly kill someone without a valid roleplay reason.
  • FailRP
An act in which you deliberately perform an action that is not deemed fair, realistic or in line with the current situation. This rule is enforced at the CityRP Staff Team's discretion.

    - Interrupting a roleplay scenario that you are not involved in is a major breach of the rules.
  • FearRP
This is typically called "Fail FearRP" when you are in breach of this rule. It means that you are not valuing your life when it is in threat or danger, typically when someone is pointing a gun at you, you must do as they say. Also using your inventory while being arrested is against the rules.

    - As a civilian you cannot rob someone thats in a vehicle. If you try to, they are allowed to flee without the consequence of you shooting them. This type of FearRP is not enforced.
    - If you rob an individual on foot then Fear RP applies when that individual doesn't have a firearm equipped. (In their backpack doesnt count, must be on them before you start the engagement).
    - Running into an active shooter scenario when you are not involved is a major breach of the FearRP rule.
  • VDM
Vehicle deathmatch. An act in which you deliberately run someone over with your car.
  • Declaring
You can declare on players verbally via phone call, by shooting a firearm in the air, by using the F4 menu proximity declaration system or verbally in proximity. A declaration is when you tell someone "Do this, or this will happen". For example: "Put your hands up or I will shoot you". You always need to give the person instructions on what they need to do to prevent being shot.
  • The City
If you hear this term used in an unexpected manner, it typically means the person is referring to the server itself.
  • Priority (Priority Event)
This means that a Priority Event is in progress and Police are already dealing to an in-progress major event.
If Priority is active you cannot:
    - Take a hostage
    - Rob a store
    - Initiate a Police chase outside of the already existing priority call
    - Baiting Police or entering the Priority call area without permission is a breach of the rules and you may be punished for it.

  • Roleplay involving sensitive subjects like: Rape, Terrorism and some other subjects will result in a permanent ban. Use your brain, if you don't think you should be roleplaying a particular scenario then you need to stop. If you are unsure, you should seek advice from staff.
  • All definitions are enforced, do not break them.
  • Do not meta game (using out of character information in-game / in-character)
  • Do not power game (creating non-consensual RP against another player, this includes scamming, interrupting a transaction, bending RP to create an unfair advantage)
  • Disconnecting from the server while you are in roleplay (this includes being in a Police chase) is against the rules and will result in a ban
  • Charging back payments made to CityRP is against the law and a breach of our Terms of Service. You will not only be permanently banned but also held responsible for fraud.
  • Avoid using racist and sexist remarks in-game. We understand it's roleplay but it's better if we keep it clean, staff may remove you if you continue to use remarks not intended to be taken in roleplay.
  • Although you can see people's names, you should not refer to them by the name you see on your screen, this is meta gaming. We leave their name on screen so you can report them if required.
  • You cannot interrupt a transaction (an event where one player is giving something to another player). This is a major breach of the rules.

  • Failure to pull over for red/blue emergency lights is against the rules unless you are breaking the law.
  • Driving like an idiot on purpose will only result in you being banned. This is a roleplay server not a drift server.
  • Running people over deliberately in roleplay is not permitted. We understand if this happens accidentally but even then you could be banned.

  • Do not bait police into chasing you. They won't fall for it and you'll be banned.
  • Once Handcuffed, you are expected to follow all instructions set out by Police, at that stage, you have lost.
  • Stealing Police vehicles is allowed but grants Police lethal force.

  • You cannot steal Civilian vehicles that are related to their job, such as Tow Truck Drivers.
  • You can steal civilian vehicles, including truck/trailer combos.
  • You cannot steal Ambulances or Fire Engines.
  • When mugging someone, you can only steal a maximum of $1,000 from their wallet. This is to prevent people getting mugged when purchasing homes or vehicles. Realistically most people in real life would not carry more than $1,000.
  • You cannot open fire on Police without first declaring on them. There are multiple ways to declare: You can declare verbally via a phone call to Police, you can declare by shooting your firearm in the air, not aiming at anyone or you can verbally declare when in the proximity of Police. However if declaring verbally when in the proximity of Police, you should also discharge your weapon in the air too.
  • Opening fire on Civilians is only allowed if you declare on them and you have valid roleplay reason to declare on them. Randomly declaring on a civilian passing by is power game.
  • If someone you have declared on surrenders then you cannot kill them. However if they shoot back at you after declaring and then surrender, their fate lies with you.
  • You cannot take people hostage when there is less than 3 police online.
