I would like to propose:
(1) Illegal Trucking Contracts
Weed, guns and shit.
These would cost a lot more to start but pay out significantly more.
These can be stolen by other players, and are obviously illegal so the police can pull you over and with reasonable suspicion that something is off with your contents (2), they can search.
(2) Goods Damage
This would be relative to vehicle damage, reducing the value of, and exposing the contents so that other players can see whats inside. You can repair trailer damage but not goods damage.
This could make someone want ot steal your cargo, where stealing a generic mail load isnt worth the risk.
Goods damage/being able to see in would also be reasonable suspicion for the police to search your cargo.
This will also decrease the value of the goods, including normal legal contracts
Let's imagine a world
You take a contract to move a weapon stash from the beach bunker to woogong this costs you $45,000 out of pocket, but hey - they promised you $90,000 on a safe delivery!
On your way, you somehow manage to scrape the entire length of your truck along a traffic light, causing severe damage to the trailer. You have now torn your trailers side wall, and there is now a hole that people can see inside.
While you are repairing this, you are exposed to every no-gooder in town, and the police (who would arrest you). Let's say you fixed it and only one guy drove past. The goods inside were still damaged and are now worth slightly less.
You continue along your way when suddenly you are slammed off the road by an Orange 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Stingray Coupe 5.5L V8. You are being robbed by that guy and his friends! OH NO! You whip out your earlier prepared unguided, shoulder-launched RPG-7 from your pocket. One shot and BOOM they are all dead.
You get back in your truck and finish your journey. You arrive at your destination alive, and turn in the goods, which got all shot up in the "fight".
Congratulations you just got paid $30,000 for the small amount they were able to salvage from what you ruined. Next time - deliver mail please.
